ORRELL RAT CHRISTMAS PARTY - Saturday 10th December

A superb weekend outing to Liberty's hotel in Blackpool for the annual RAT Christmas party included dinner, live caberet, and an overnight stay. Everyone who attended certainly enjoyed the event with a few nursing a well deserved hangover on Sunday morning. Well done to Pat and Alister for arranging another great social event.

YORKSHIRE DALES RIDE OUT - Sunday 22nd May 2005

Despite a dodgy weather forecast, the run was successfully completed mostly in the dry by approx 20 members with 12 bikes taking part. The route was a gentle 135 mile scenic run from start to end, split into six legs, leaving and returning to the M6 Preston. Much of the route used single track roads, but all were surfaced and suitable for any motorcycle. A coffee stop just outside Skipton was made before heading off over Malham and down into Arncliffe. Part of the pack missed a turning at Gargrave but soon got back on route to enable us to meet up at Kettlewell. A lunchstop was made at Hawes, and included a visit to the Wensleydale Dairy shop for cheese sampling. Then more single track making our way through Dent, enroute for afternoon refreshment at Devils Bridge, where we were greeted by a very heavy downpour of rain. Some decided to head off for an early finish, and approx half stuck with the route south through the Trough of Bowland and Chipping, before ending back at the M6 Preston. All agreed, it was an enjoyable ride-out dampened only slightly by the good old British weather.
